About Kelly Kostanesky and
KMMK Communications

One of my favorite sayings is “Spread the light, be the lighthouse.” I feel like it perfectly summarizes how I strive to live my life both personally and professionally.

Since I was a child, I've loved helping those in need and shining a spotlight on the work that others were doing. When I started college, I realized that I could fulfill both of those passions through a career in communications.

Now, with nearly 25 years of journalism and public relations experience, I combine a marketer’s strategy with a storyteller's voice to help nonprofit organizations build a deeper connection with their donors.

My goal is to help your nonprofit shine a light on the work you are doing and reach the people you need to advance your mission.

Communication builds relationships. And relationships are at the heart of everything a nonprofit organization does. I'm passionate about helping nonprofits build lasting relationships so they can raise the funding they need to fulfill their missions and help the community they serve.

Outside of my work, I enjoy volunteering with my local chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Scranton Area Community Foundation’s Women in Philanthropy giving circle, and Good Shepherd Church.

I also enjoy cheering on my beloved Duke Blue Devils and Buffalo Bills and spending time with my dog and cat.

What’s with the lighthouse symbolism?

Just as a lighthouse serves as a beacon of hope and leads people safely through difficult situations, nonprofit organizations act similarly, providing care for the communities they serve. And, the way I see it, if you’re the lighthouse, I’m the lightkeeper — the watchful guardian who maintains the lighthouse and your light.

Some of my guiding lights (principles) are:

Lift up

Inspire

Guide through obstacles

Help drive impact

Trust over transactions

Now that you know a little more about me and the “why” behind what I do, I’d love to learn your why, too.

And, if the fit feels right, I’d love to chat about how we can collaborate to market your organization and welcome new members into your community while supporting the relationships you’ve already built.
